I'm new to Kickstarter! How does this work?
Welcome! Hopefully this is the first of many projects you discover and support via the platform! Kickstarter is not a store, instead backers pledge to projects to help them come to life and support a creative process. To thank their backers for their support, project creators offer unique rewards that speak to the spirit of what they’re hoping to create. If the campaign reaches funding, at the end you’ll be charged the amount you pledged.
Later, you’ll receive a invite to the “pledge manager” (Backerkit) where you’ll be able to pay any relevant taxes and shipping costs (see the “shipping” section of the Kickstarter campaign) and provide your details for delivery. This is an important step because without it, we can’t deliver your rewards.
The final rewards will be delivered to you in early 2026, once they’re manufactured.

Are you using a pledge manager?
Yes! We’ll be using Backerkit as we have for our previous campaigns. All of the add-ons available on the Kickstarter will also be available there and retail backers will be able to build their order in the pledge manager with the retail discount applied.

How do I specify the language of my game?
In the pledge manager, Backerkit, you’ll be able select your language from either English or German. ALL of your rewards will be in the chosen language. Note that German language versions are only available for backers in DE/AT/CH and your entire order must be the same language.
Note that no other languages will be available via this Kickstarter, even if they are announced before fulfilment.

Card Sleeve information
Will cards fit in the box with sleeves?
Deep Regrets Base Game: No, the insert is designed to be as snug as possible to reduce shipping costs, space and keep the game as affordable and compact as possible. If you want to sleeve your cards, you’ll have to dispose of the insert (which is fully biodegradable and can be composted).
Even Deeper Regrets: Yes, Even Deeper Regrets does not require a moulded insert to organise the components, so it has simple cardboard dividers and sleeving the included cards will still leave space for them to be put back into the box. Note that there is not enough space to fit the cards from the base game into the expansion box or vice-versa, sleeved or unsleeved.
What size sleeves do I need and how many of each?
Deep Regrets Base Game: 177 Standard Playing Cards: 3.5x2.5” (65x89mm) 73 Mini cards: 2.5x1.75” (65x45mm)
Even Deeper Regrets: 251 Standard Playing Cards: 3.5x2.5” (65x89mm) 32 Mini cards: 2.5x1.75” (65x45mm)
Lamentable Tentacles + KS Exclusive Cards: LT: 24 Standard Playing Cards: 3.5x2.5” (65x89mm) KS: 7 Standard Playing Cards: 3.5x2.5” (65x89mm)
Please see the dedicated section of the KS Campaign on Card Sleeves for more details.

Will you offer a big-box solution for the game and expansion?
No. I have a strict company policy of no redundant parts and minimal waste and creating a box that makes two existing boxes redundant goes against that policy.

Will you offer playmats or card sleeves?
No. I have a strict company policy of no redundant parts, no plastic, and minimal waste and neoprene playmats and plastic sleeves go against those policies.

What are the differences between the Kickstarter version and the retail version?
For Deep Regrets base game: There is no difference except the KS version comes wrapped in printed craft paper and the retail version is instead closed with two clear circular stickers on the edges.
For Even Deeper Regrets: 1. The KS version comes wrapped in printed craft paper and the retail version is instead closed with two clear circular stickers on the edges. 2. The KS edition comes with the “Bad Fish” micro-expansion packed in the box. It contains six new fish cards and one rules card.

Do I need the errata kit?
YES: If you received the game anywhere other than this Kickstarter campaign. All copies currently in existence have the problems that this errata kit correct.
NO: If you’re getting your copy of the base game from this Kickstarter. All of the issues the errata kit corrects have already been corrected in all future print runs, including all those that ship as part of this KS campaign.

How does the errata kit work?
It contains an instruction card to guide you, but it will replace the following cards from the base game and the Lamentable Tentacles expansion: - Sockeye Salmon (Depth I) - Corpse (Depth I) - Box Jellyfish (Depth II) - Rod of the Infinite (Rod Item) - Psychic Interloper (Lamentable Tentacles Expansion) - All 10 player reference cards (base game)
All of these cards should be discarded from the original game and mini-expansion and replaced with the new versions provided in the errata kit.
In addition, there is a sticker sheet containing essential updates to the rulebook with instructions on where to apply them in your rulebook to bring it up to the current ruleset.

What other languages are coming? Can my pledge be in those languages?
Only English and German will be available via this Kickstarter - even if new languages are announced before fulfilment.
There are six other languages in the works! Some will be available in retail later this year, others will be early in 2026. Here’s the full list:
Chinese - published by Asmodee China Czech - published by TLAMA Games Dutch - published by White Goblin Games Polish - published by Alis Games Russian (for non-Russian markets only) - published by Board Bound Ukranian - published by Igromag
And more are in the works! Stay tuned for announcements!

Can I get the Kickstarter Exclusives later?
The paper wrapped copies of the game and the six Bad Fish cards are largely exclusive to this Kickstarter, but a small amount may be sold in the future at conventions or given away as promotions. This is your best chance to get them in English and German, unless you live in the UK or DE and attend conventions often.
These Kickstarter Exclusives may come to other languages as a later date.

The errata kit is limited to one per backer - but I have more than one base game!
Don’t worry! We can sort this out on a person-by-person basis in the pledge manager. The limit is to prevent people from abusing the system but we can very easily accommodate backers who own more than one copy or are getting the errata kit for a friend that doens’t want to support the Kickstarter, etc.

What is the offer for retailers?
Backers at the retailer tier will have access to the 50% discount off of MSRP in the pledge manager for their entire order. They can build the order according to their needs. The retailer offer does not extend to Shallow Regrets, Original Artwork or the errata kit.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
